Socset Reward favourite for Grade A7 race at Oxford

Socset Reward is likely to prevail in the 450 metres Grade A7 greyhound race at Oxford in England on Friday, March 2, 2012. The winning hound will be awarded with a cash prize of ?40.

A total of six runners have been confirmed for the flat race and their names are: Socset Reward, Chapelane Lucy, Undisguised, Gliding High, Amazing Lulu and All Black Gus.

Out of the above runners, the best odds have been given to Socset Reward for his good form in recent times. He posted an encouraging trial time at this venue on Thursday, February 16, this year.

Prior to that, N. Colton?s trained dog struggled to match the pace of other runners in a couple of Grade A6 events. However, he will be comfortable in this class and the punters will be interested in placing some bets on him today.

The blue dog is the son of Boherduff Light out of Memphis and was born in May 2010. He has a very good chance of winning, but we will have to wait and see whether he can deliver the expected results or not.

Chapelane Lucy, trained by M. Massey, has been unable to deliver positive results in higher classes, but she is one of the favourites to win at this level. She managed to win a Grade A7 race at Oxford last month and will have the momentum on her side.

The bettors will be a touch hesitant over placing their bets on Chapelane Lucy, but she is quite capable of producing a winning performance today, as she has the speed and skills to match the rest of the pack.

The blue bitch is the daughter of Droopys Maldini out of Chapelane Ash and was born in April 2010.

Another greyhound, who has been performing well at this level, is Undisguised. He might not be the bookmakers? favourite to win, but he can prove to be a fierce competitor and will certainly do something special at Oxford.

The brindle dog, trained by T. Kibble, will certainly be the one to watch out for today. He is the son of Disguised out of Rusheen Beauty and was born in November 2007.

Considering the performances of the top three hounds, it seems that the real battle will be amongst them. However, Gliding High, Amazing Lulu and All Black Gus also have the potential of causing an upset.
